Our Impact

Friends works to increase awareness of how adult day services provide an alternative to institutional care—keeping people where they most want to be: in their own homes and communities.

Our Impact

Friends of ADHC fundraise throughout the year in order to ensure maximum donations possible to offset the loss from insufficient insurer reimbursement for ADHC. Here are some examples of our impact.

95%

Friends of ADHC provides quarterly donations to enhance services and ensure no participant goes without vital care. With 95% of participants depending on Medi-Cal, the Center serves some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

$250,000

Friends of ADHC has contributed $250,000 to the Sagewood Center Capital Campaign. These funds will support an expanded program and new building scheduled to open in 2027.

Four Buses & Vans

Friends of ADHC has partnered with the Woodland Health Foundation, Agency on Aging Area 4 and other grant funders to purchase and share the cost of four buses and vans for the center.

Two Remodels

Friends of ADHC has funded two building remodels. Renovations included the construction of an enclosed patio, a refreshed lobby, an updated kitchen, and a new roof.

Nurse Navigator

Friends of ADHC has funded a pilot RN nurse navigator position to manage and improve outcomes in complex patients. The program was found to prevent ER visits, hospitalization and nursing home placement, and improved health indicators

Therapeutic Garden

Friends of ADHC is working towards funding 100% of a large accessible Therapeutic Garden. Participants will be able to enjoy the benefits of nature and gardening  that will be visable from the main rooms.

Other Significant Impacts

  • Friends of ADHC Supports Alzheimer’s disease research by participating in the annual “Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease” fundraiser.
  • Friends of ADHC promotes community awareness and education about the critical need for adult day services to keep people, who would otherwise be in an institutional setting, in the community
  • Friends of ADHC regularly participates in outreach to service organizations to educate, fundraise, recruit volunteers and new members. Recent supporters include all three Rotary Clubs of Yolo County and 100+ Women Who Care. Proceeds have resulted in the purchase of exercise equipment and funding for the therapeutic garden.
  • Promote FADHC through social media (Facebook) and newspaper articles to Davis Enterprise and Woodland Daily Democrat.
  • Support YADHC staff by providing lunch monthly and annual staff picnics (we need to discuss and agree, but this at a minimum is a nice way to show our support). And participate in special events for participants

We couldn't do this without you!

FADHC relies on the generosity of the community to help support many of the Center’s many efforts which would otherwise go unfunded. programs and services
